Produsele alimentare tradiţionale atestate de Ministerul Agriculturii în primul semestru al anului sunt de două ori şi jumătate mai numeroase decât în aceeaşi perioadă a lui 2010. Potrivit datelor furnizate de minister, ponderea cea mai mare o au produsele din carne, lapte, pâine, zaharoase, legume şi fructe. Solicitarea operatorilor economici cu privire la atestarea şi înscrierea produselor tradiţionale în Registrul de atestare produse tradiţionale este voluntară. Ei pot beneficia de sprijin financiar doar prin Programul National pentru Dezvoltare Rurală – Măsura 121, ‘Modernizarea exploataţiilor agricole’, pentru investiţii în modernizarea şi dotare unităţilor de producţie.
